Surfin' Safari

At the beginning of August I flew out to California to see my family for 3 weeks! I left with the boys 2 weeks before Matt had to take his 1st round Boards for Medical school, thus allowing him to study in peace and quiet at our house. And after Matt took his test he was able to come out to CA to hang out with us for a week. I was super nervous to fly with the boys all by myself, but even though there were a few break downs on the plane, we made it to CA safely and without making too many enemies :)

Here is Grandma and Oliver
The night that Matt flew in, we all went to Angelo's and Vinci's Restaurant in Fullerton. This is where Matt and I had our "rehearsal" dinner the night before we got married. We didn't realize it until we were already there but it was exactly 4 years to the day....who knew 4 years ago we would find ourselves in the same spot with our two beautiful boys!
Grandpa and Anders walking in Pasadena to go to an old time Soda Fountain...it was tasty :) I think Anders gets his fashion sense from his Grandpa :)
And no trip to California would be complete without a trip to the beach... or 4 trips! We love the beach and Anders had a blast every time we went...if we could only teach him to not eat the sand
Ollie wanted to play in the sand with his big brother
Matt decided he wanted to give surfing a try... so he rented a board. It was a pretty windy day so the waves were choppy
Here he is practicing his technique on the sand before hitting the waves
He was able to get up a couple times but because of the choppy waves the ride didn't last too long
Dad gave Anders a ride on the board....after the wave pushed him back to the shore, Anders promptly jumped of the board and ran to the sand saying "all done!!!"
Our little beach bum!
We also went to Disneyland and California Adventure....we had such a fun day!!
Here is Anders on his favorite ride... Casey Jr. ...he loves trains, he wanted to ride in the wild animals cage....he was so excited!
Anders got to meet lots of characters, but one of his favorites was Jesse
Mommy and Anders at California Adventure
We kept telling Anders we where going to meet Mickey and go to his house. He was so excited when he saw Mickey that he ran up and gave him a big hug... it was awesome!
The best part of the trip was hanging out with family. Anders loved playing with his cousins!
Me, my sister, and Ollie... this was the night before we all flew home
Thanks for the fun trip everyone!!! Miss you guys tons!
