#3 Aquarium

There has been an aquarium in Denver for some time and none of us have ever been, so we thought we should probably visit when we had the chance. We took the family and met up with Grammy and some of the cousins and had a great old time watching fish:)
From Left: Becka, Oliver, Anders, Grammy, Shaylynn, Christian, and Dylan. It was a lot of fun to see all of the cool sea creatures. They even had rainforest, desert, and river exhibits. The Otters were quite entertaining since they would do flips off the glass for all the kids. Just a recommendation, we went in the evening on a week day and we were basically the only ones there!
At one point we went through this cool tunnel where the sea life can swim all around you. It was pretty cool. The turtles seemed to be the kids favorite.
Becka and Ollie. Even though Becka isn't a big fan of fish, she did have fun. There was one exhibit where you could experience the flash floods in the desert after it rained far away in the mountains. They had lightening flash and then water noises that got closer until all of the sudden this ginormous wave came crashing into a plexiglass wall right in from of you. It was actually a little scary cause it catches you off guard. Anyway, there was a wet zone to stand in and a dry zone. We tried to keep Anders away from the wet but he wouldn't listen, and when that wave of water came and shot some water over the edge he ran with terror around the corner and back to the last exhibit. It was hysterical. Poor kid didn't even know what happened and he ended up soaking wet. We all had a good laugh though. After that it was just hard to get him to pass through the room.
We also got to feed the sting rays.
I'm guessing Christian got one!
You can see they all wanted to be a part of things. It was quite the battle to keep Anders and Shaylynn out of the water. There was only one close call when Anders made it over the safety net and up the stairs by the tank, where the demonstration people normally stand. A second later and he probably would have jumped in with them.
That was it for our third spring break activity. One more to go that will be coming soon.
