February Fun

What a month. I would like to say that so many exciting things happened in the last 29 days or so, but not much has. We have just been living life as a busy little family. Here are some pictures to sum up our fun february.
Come rain, shine, snow, or sleet, Anders loves to be outside and he would play out there all day every day if we let him:)
This is Anders making his homemade valentines for his preschool class. He had a great time making them and such a fun time showing everyone all of the valentines he got at school. He absolutely loves going to preschool!
This is a great picture of all of the Grandkids on Matt's side. What a great group of little kids!
One of Oliver's favorite things to do is to run around the house dangling toys and shaking them as fast as he can. He lets out the cutest little laugh and is basically in a trance that is only broken when he falls.
All we wanted was a picture of them standing next to each other against the wall to get a comparison shot. This is the closest we got to both of them smiling:)
Oliver is not quite as engaged as Anders is during movies (Cars), but he is starting to enjoy some shows as long as they have music to hold his attention.
Ollie likes his outside time too:)
Cute boy!
Sometimes Ollie can be the slowest eater in the world!!! As a result he often ends up lounging in his chair like above. At least he is gaining weight and starting to grow;)
We got a kite for the boys for valentines day and had a blast at the park. As you can see Anders doesn't have much sense of the danger zone. He just wanted to run around like a crazy boy.
He got to warm with his coat and ended up taking of his shoes and socks too. Such a silly guy.
Ollie enjoyed his view from the stroller. He wasn't to sure what to think of the wind.
The cute three and the airplane kite. What a fun month :)

Oliver's 1st Birthday!!

On Oliver's birthday we all went to the Stock Show and Rodeo in Denver with Pops!
We got to see lots of animals. The boys loved seeing the horses up close...they also loved the little petting zoo. Here's me and Ollie next to a pot belly pig.
I think Anders was a little envious of the boy who was brushing the llama, he really wanted a turn too!
Anders was a little scared at first, but then he went around happily petting all the animals...here he is with a very friendly sheep.
After the rodeo (and a much needed nap) we gave Oliver his birthday cake. At first he didn't really know what to do...but then he started squishing it in his fingers and loved it!
Then he discovered that it tastes good too!
My happy little Birthday Boy!!!!
Due to some scheduling conflicts, we didn't have Ollie's birthday party until 2 weeks after his real birthday...but boy was it worth the wait. The theme for the party was a mustache bash!!! When everyone got to the party we had a photo studio set up to take their mustache pics. As you can see there were lots of 'staches to choose from.
For the adults we had a "name that mustache" game..it was a hit!
I made a banner that had different names for mustaches...such as flavor saver, crumb catcher (etc.)
For the kiddos we had a pin the mustache on the 1970's Burt Reynolds.
And for dessert we had a milk and cookie bar set up!
We had shortbread cookies, oatmeal raisin, chocolate chip, sugar cookies with mustaches on top made from crushed oreos, and chocolate covered rice krispy mustaches....yummo!
A close up of the rice crispy mustaches
And of course....MILK!!! Chocolate, Stawberry, and regular! Thanks again to my awesome sister for sending me these cute straws!!!
And a homemade Mustache Cake!!!
The kids had fun with the pin the mustache game...as you can see Anders' goal was to pull of the blindfold ..which he succeeded!
Grammy made an awesome mustache piƱata....here's Pops showcasing it to the kiddos
Ollie opening up his presents with dad's help
He loved this new toy from Grandy and Papa Cole......he was grinning from ear to ear!
And here are the fun photos from our "photo booth" at the party. Here's a great one of Grandy and Papa Cole
Grammy & Pops
Russell, Natali, Dylan, Christain, Camden, and Shay (she was hiding)
Us!
Jason, Jessica and Jaxon...i love this one!
Lauren and Jared...so funny!

Thanks everyone who came to the bash!!! You helped to make Ollie's 1st birthday so special!! We had such a fun time!!!!

The End of 2011

So we are a month into 2012 and that puts us about a month behind for blog posts, so really this is right on time. We had a great time for Christmas. Matt had school off for 2 weeks and we had time as a family to really just relax and have fun. It was great!!!
We spent Christmas at Grammy and Pop's house. The boys love spending time there.
This is Oliver in his Christmas outfit.
And Anders too!
On Christmas Eve we went to Grandy and Bill's house (Matt's Dad's parents). For whatever reason Oliver started this standing on his head thing.
Of course there was the annual sugar cookie decoration and the gingerbread house contest. It was a close one this year but despite some of Becka's green plaster work:) Lets just say she "nailed it"
Ollie's just being cute after his bath.
The boys opened their cars and that was the only present they needed. We should have saved them for last:)
Anders got a Mac truck from GRammy and Pops. As you can see he was not sure how to react. He was so excited!
Ollie loved playing with all the boxes and wrappings.
Santa was fun, Oliver didn't react much but Anders certainly let him know that he wanted "lots of new toys please."
This is a funny picture because we were sitting on the couch and Anders came in and said "where's Oliver" and started laughing. Then he wanted us to follow him and we did. Basically he had shut Oliver in the kitchen bench. They both thought it was a lot of fun.
Oliver loved looking at the lights on the tree and did a pretty good job not touching them too.
Here's us at the Zoo Lights. Both boys liked it, but Anders really wasn't happy until we saw the live giraffes.
That's all for now really. A little update: Anders started doing a preschool class a couple times a week and he absolutely loves it. Oliver is walking (when he wants to at least) and has so much personality. They laugh at each other while they play, and it's so adorable. Becka is doing great adjusting to our boys growing up so fast. She is planning Ollie's big Mustache Bash for his first birthday. I'm sure pictures of that will come soon. And Matt is doing good. He is doing his Psych rotation so his days are full of crazies. Not much different than his everyday life... just kidding. Hope everyone is enjoying 2012!
